Peak Lenin

              The peak Lenin is 7, 134 meters height, located in the Osh region near the border of Kyrgyzstan with Tajikistan, it is one of the famous places of a tour program in Kyrgyzstan. Mainly the peak resembles a high armchair and was considered to be the third highest mountain during the time of the Soviet Union.               The peak resembles the form of pyramid with a big base of steep northern slope. The first information was given by the Russian explorer of Central Asia A.P. Fedchanko when he was visiting Kyrgyzstan in his travel. He mapped the peak being in the journey to the Northern Pamir in 1871. The Pamir Mountains were full of beliefs and the information given by A.P. Fedchanko is known to be the first reliable one. The Peak Lenin (renamed after the Soviet leader) had the other name in honor to the Russian Governor General - Peak Kaufman. Then the mountains had the name of "Warm Mountains". This climbing was made in honor of the 50th anniversary of the former Soviet Union on the territory of Kyrgyzstan of today. There were estimated out of 301 people that 20 were women, 60 were newcomers. This summiting exposed four new footpaths, the most difficult for being in a tour program in Kyrgyzstan of which is the Southeast one. The mountain in Kyrgyzstan is known for high altitudes of 16 routes.               Any mounting is attended by grievous cases, when a great amount of people died due to weather conditions. For example, the women team in 1974 was caught by strong windy storm. After that event the scene was documented. 44 climbers died under the snows in the result of earthquake in 1991, the only one person survived and the one found. Near the Wild Onion Field, or Lukovaya Polyana there is the main base camp named Achik Tash in Kyrgyzstan. This base on the field is the last green before stones of mountain of Kyrgyzstan start.
